The Backyard

The other room at Uncle Rocco

The back patio is the garden-lit side of the restaurant: outdoor seating by day, and a real event space in the evening.

Recent events have run from family birthdays with balloons and buffet trays to silent discos under the greenery, with the food still coming from the same Willow Avenue kitchen.

  • First birthdays and family parties with room for kids, parents and a real meal.
  • Silent discos under the greenery and disco-ball light.
  • Patio dinners in the open air, real plates and the full menu close by.

The long version

Everything else worth knowing

The detail that does not fit in a hero: sourcing, every ordering route, the whole review distribution, and why breakfast runs to four.

Every way to order, book and pay

There are four ways in, and they do different jobs.

  • Order online for pickup or delivery through the restaurant's own ordering page. The direct route, and the one where the kitchen keeps the most of what you spend.
  • Reserve a table on Resy. Worth doing at weekend brunch; a diner that serves brunch until four in the afternoon fills the middle of the day, not just the morning.
  • Call (201) 238-2484 for anything the software cannot answer, a large party, a question about a dish, or the whole rotisserie chicken family meal, which needs 45 minutes and is only available after noon.
  • Gift cards are issued through Toast and delivered by email.
  • The app. There is an Uncle Rocco app with a rewards programme attached. Worth it if you are here often enough to be earning on it rather than just installing it.

The restaurant also appears on the major delivery aggregators. Those work, and if that is where your credit is, use it. But ordering direct is the version where more of the money reaches 112 Willow Ave.

What a 4.6 rating on Google actually means

Read on 2026-09-02, 321 people had rated Uncle Rocco on Google and the average was 4.6. The breakdown that day: 263 five-star (82%), 19 four, 12 three, 13 two and 14 one. The total moves every week, so the profile carries the current one.

We publish the whole distribution rather than the headline because 4.6 is not five stars and we are not going to write it as though it were. 27 people out of 321 had a bad time. That is a real number, it is on the same page as the good ones, and the honest version of a 4.6 is more use to you than a rounded-up one.

What the kitchen actually makes itself

The short version, with the long one on our story: the mozzarella is made in the building, the sauces are made in the building, and so is the bread pudding that then turns up inside a burger and inside an iced latte. The soft serve comes off a machine here too.

The kitchen's own ordering data puts Smash Burger ($12.00), Big J Burger ($19.00), Rocco Burger ($19.00), Spicy a la Vodka ($20.00), Whole Rotisserie Chicken Family Meal ($36.00), Chicken Sangwich ($16.00), Steak Frites ($26.00) and Greek Salad ($16.00) at the top. Read that list again and the pattern is obvious: this is a burger-and-pasta room that happens to serve breakfast all day, not a breakfast room with a burger on the side.

Breakfast until four

Most brunch in this town stops at two. Ours runs to four in the afternoon, seven days, with the full lunch and dinner menu running alongside it, so a table can order a lemon olive oil pancake and an 8 oz hanger steak at the same time.

The full argument, and the whole brunch board, is on the brunch page. Buying it for someone else instead? That is a gift card.

The backyard is part of the restaurant

People book Uncle Rocco for the back patio specifically: outdoor seating by day, private-party space by night, and the place that has hosted silent discos under the lights and greenery.

For the planning version, start with the events page.

Such a cute little gem of a restaurant! Our server David was so personable and attentive and made great recommendations! We tried the Watermelon Salad (so fresh!), Mac and Cheese (loved the breadcrumbs and creaminess), and the Big J Burger (excellent smashed burger and bun!). Thank you for having us!

Catering & Events

Feed the whole room

From a working lunch to a party in the back. The full menu travels. Wagyu burgers, rotisserie chicken, fresh salads and brunch dishes. With scratch-made sauces and service that arrives on time.

Who we work with

Named suppliers and partners, because "locally sourced" on its own means nothing.

  • Antique Bar & Bakery, our sister restaurant in Hoboken. Uncle Rocco came out of the same kitchen team.
  • Vrola. The hanger steak in our Steak Frites comes from them.
  • Old York. The New Jersey wine list, sold by the half and full bottle.
  • Resy, our reservations run through them.
  • Toast. Our card system, and where gift cards are issued.
  • Hoboken Terminal. PATH, NJ Transit and the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail all meet there, a short trip from our door.
